1. Muhammad Akhir Othman
Managing Director
Muhammad Akhir Othman is a Professional Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia. He obtained his Bachelors Degree from the Unversity of Southampton in 1980, and Masters in Hydraulics and Coastal Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok in 1984. He has a lot of experience in coastal and hydraulics engineering having been in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage from 1980 until 1992, before he left to form HYDEC. He has been involved in almost all the projects carried out by HYDEC and has provide the direction for the projects. He is also recognised in the field of environment where his major work has been in the coastal and aquatic environment, especially mangroves. He is registered as an EIA consultant with the Department of Environment.
2. Izihan Ibrahim
Technical Director
Izihan Ibrahim is the Technical Director of HYDEC. He is a civil engineer and specialise in the field of hydrology having obtained his Masters in Hydrology from Imperial College, London. He is a member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia and also a registered EIA consultant with the Department of Environment. He has a lot of experience in studying river and drainage systems and was involved in the hydrological and hydraulics study of the Rajang River for the Bakun Dam EIA. He was also involved in the hydraulics study of the Sarawak River for the Sarawak River Regulation Scheme and the Muar River Basin Management Plan.. Among his major drainage study and design work was the Batu Pahat Drainage Master Plan.
Norhanim Abdul Malek
Senior Engineer
Norhanim is a civil engineering graduate of the University of Liverpool and has had 10 years experience working as an engineer, 7 years of which is working in HYDEC. She is the head of the coastal engineering and design section. She has been involved in several design and construction projects. Among the major works that she was involved in were the Shrimp Farm Jetty at Kuala Kerpan and the Chendering Fishing Harbour Study.
Suzila Sharif
Engineer
Suzila is an agriculture enginering graduate from University Putra Malaysia. She has been working in HYDEC for over 7 years and has been trained in the use of MIKE11. She does most of the hydrology , river and drainage work in HYDEC. Among the major projects that she was involved in were the Batu Pahat Drainage Master Plan Study, the Dam Break Study for Beris Dam and the Hydraulic Study for Mixed Development at Batu Gajah, Perak.
Hazura Yaacob
Environmental Scientist
Hazura Yaacob is a graduate of the University Wales College of Cardiff, United Kingdom. She works as an environmental scientist in HYDEC. She has been with HYDEC for over 5 years and is involved in most of the Environmental Impact Asseessment and Environmental Management Plan preparation in the company. Her major work is the Beris Dam Environmental Management Plan. She also acted as environmental expert for the Bandar Muadzam Town Drainage Master Plan and Setiu Lagoon Master Plan
Adriana Ab. Aziz
Civil Engineer
Adriana is a graduate of the Universiti Putra Malaysia. She works as a civil engineer in HYDEC primarily in the coastal engineering section. She has been trained in the use of MIKE21 and LITPACK. Her major work includes the hydraulic study of the impact of the sand extraction of the coast of Negri Sembilan and the impact of the thermal plume from the proposed power plant at Sepang.
Nur Martinah Mahmad Tarmini
Civil Engineer
Tina is a civil engineering graduate from University Malaya. She joined HYDEC in May 2003 upon graduation. Since joining she has been involved in designing drainage system in Penang and carrying hydraulic study of Sungai Langat.

Azman Lafif
Technicians
Norlela, Fasli and Azman are the technicians in HYDEC. Their main role are in data collection and analysis, CAD and supervision of construction works. They have been involved in nearly all the projects carried out by HYDEC.

Office Administrative Assistant
Rohanie is the office administrative assistant of HYDEC. She has been working in the company for 9 years. She is the one to contact if you need company brochures or further information on the company.
Norhazlinda Husain @ Amanda
Personal Assistant to the Managing Director
Norhazlinda is the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director. She has a diploma in Business Administration. She is the one to contact should you need to get in touch with the Managing Director. She likes to be called by her nickname, Amanda.
